North-East/Yorkshire Fun Fair Pics
About Me
Hi im Dave,im 34,i've been interested/attending fairs since my parents used to take me to the odd fair in the Teesside area when i was young.

I then met my ex-partner Bev from Bridlington who has two boys & found myself going for days out visiting fun fairs on a regular basis. I'm from Teesside & Bev has family in West Yorkshire, so we were always out & about & I would usually find a fair to visit somewhere whether it be in the North East or Yorkshire area.

I'm single again now and back on Teesside, but i'll do my best to cover fun fairs in the area.

    Welcome
Welcome to North East & Yorkshire Fun Fair Pictures. As the website address suggests i mainly attend fun fairs in the North East of England & North,East & West Counties of Yorkshire.

That's it for 2009 and may well be it for good with regards to updates on this site. Thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to look at my pictures. We'll just have to wait and see if I'm back on the road in 2010

Since splitting up with my partner I have mainly attended fairs alone and been confronted several times this year by members of the public, security and also the Police asking what I am up to and why and what I am taking photos of.

A quick fix would be to meet someone else who has children and enjoys fairs but it's not that easy unfortunately. I didn't get questioned once in the four years I attended fairs with my ex partner and her children. I haven't a problem getting questioned by security or a local constabulary as I have nothing to hide but it does make me ask the question is it worth the hassle anymore? and I'm starting to feel paranoid on grounds when taking pictures of rides.

It's my understanding some showmen check out my site and I've got to know a 'fair' few over the last 5 years or so being a regular face at fun fairs across the North East and Yorkshire. Some of them actually joke I must attend more fairs a year than they do! I'd like to thank the ones who have got to know me for their support (you know who you are I'm not one for name dropping) and taken the trouble to speak to me. I know some of them would vouch for me being at a funfair for a genuine reason (my hobby) if need be even though they don't know me personally and I am very grateful to said showmen.

I know it's a strange hobby to have but I've always been interested in fairs since I was young. I even visit fairs when they are pulling on/building up and sometimes pulling down. Is it really any different to train spotting?

I've now started putting videos of fairground rides onto You Tube which can be viewed on the link 'My You Tube Fun Fair Videos' in the links section of this site.
